This is rev.3 of my cube PC. The motherboard from the last one was a piece of crap and was giving me all sorts of video and memory problems. Then, I broke my X800XT. So I decided to overhaul on the guts and now we have landed with this. I know the wires are not what they once were but I tried the best I could. This power supply has like tripple the connectors and I don't even use half of them.
How are the temperatures, how well is the PSU holding up with those high end parts, and have you tried overclocking with that motherboard? I've always loved the idea of a small form factor case but these three things have held me back.

CPU: idle 30c, load 45c dual prime 42c games (fan around 1500rpm).
Video card: 58c idle 70c load (fan 79%)
Overclocking with this motherboard is very nice. It has configruation profiles, integrated memtest in the bios, and lots of voltage and clock settings. I've gotten the CPU up to 2.7ghz with only 1.425 volts but I run it at 2.4Ghz with 1.375 volts for everyday use.
PSU works fine, 11.99 idle and 11.95 load measured with a digital multimeter. Pretty good.
All in all it works just as good if not better than my old full atx setup.
so with the new parts and all, how much mullah did you spend on your machine total? i've been thinking of going SFF the next time that i build a new system. but it looks like you've done a nice job on it though, even if the temps are a little on the high side, LOL.
Hmm, yeah I think I might be going SFF when I upgrade for vista. One other question, is that handle actually sturdy enough to carry the whole pc around with, lol? It always looked kind of flimsy to me.
I was also thinking about going SFF since I'm going to LAN's more and more now. Maybe keep mine now for home gaming use and have another one for on-the-go (like when I go to Cali once a month).
Yeah...how is that handle? Is it sturdy? Since a PC is that small, I was just thinking about just carrying it with 2 hands.
The idle temp is high because most of the fans turn off when it's idling. The rear LEDfan and CPU fan turn off so the only fans that actually run are the power supply and video card. I prefer it quiet. I'm sure I could easily take 8C off both idle and load by making the fans run faster but it's my preference to keep the quiet so it gets a little warm but not too hot.
The handle is alright. I've carried it around by the handle more than a few times but it still makes me nervous so I usually carry it with two hands if I can.
It would make me nervous too, I'd probably end up doing the same thing. Very good job though. I think you're clearing a path for the rest of us to join in the SFF realm.
Ok, well it was fun while it lasted but I've moved to a different case now since I wanted a bigger CPU cooler. I'll post pics later today and leave this up for the record.
